Assignment #13 - Transform - "Long Day"


This is the phot that I chose to submit for Assignment #13 - Transform. This photo was originally taken in color but I felt that the picture would have a deeper feel to it viewing it in black and white. This photo was taken of a woman crossing the street in the the Bronx after what seems to be the start of a long day. The background scenery seems to add to the rugged feel of the photo.

Assignment #11 - Emotional Movement - "Runner's Stride"


This is my photo I chose to submit for Assignment #11. This photo was taken of a runner at the ING Half Marathon a couple weeks ago in downtown Atlanta. She was striding so fast into the finish line that it looked as though she was gliding on air. I had to use a faster shutter speed to stopp her action in mid stride. It turned out to be a great photo.

Assignment #4 - Portrait - "Parent's Night"


This is my submission for Assignment #4. This is a photo of my parents that was taken at my cousin's wedding a few months ago. This was a great photo because is shows another side of my parent that gets lost in the daily shuffle of life.

This photo is my submission for Assignment #10, representing Atmospheric Space. This photo was taken from a cliff on the coast of Catalina Island. This photo emphasizes the space that is created by the exspansive ocean and sky rather than any objects within the photo.

This is my submission for Assignment #8. This is the best nighttime photo I have taken. This photo was taken of my girlfriend at night with a flash. I had to play with the brightness of the photo to bring out some of the sky color in the background.

Assignment # 6 - Double Exposure - "Firework Display"


This photo is my submission for Assignment #6 Double Exposure. This photo is a combination of two photos taken from a fireworks show just seconds apart. This first is the begiinning of a fireworks show and the second is right at the point just before the firework explodes.

This is my submission for Assignment #3 - Selective Focus. This is a photo of a skylight that has a definite focal point. Your eyes are automatically drawn to the center.

Assignment #2 - Rule of Thirds - "River Night's"


This is my submission for the second assignment. This photo is a was captured from a balcony and taken of the Main Street Bridge in downtown Jacksonville. The spacing of the two towers on the bridge and the horizon allow this photo to fall with in the Rule of Thirds.

Assignment #1 Transforming an Object - "Loading Zone"




Here is my photo for the first assignment. This was taken as a worm's eye view of a car being loaded at a hotel. It was a good opportunity to view a common chore from a new vantage point.
